Project Description
Diamond Microdermabrasion
What Your Future Clients Can Expect
This facial is designed for someone with more troubled skin. Its principal purpose is to exfoliate. Exfoliation is the process of sloughing off dead skin cells to reveal a new layer of skin. Microdermabrasion does not make the skin red or streaky. It also helps treat rosacea, a reddening condition of the skin, acne and the effects of aging. There are several types of Microdermabrasion systems. A Microderm Facial is where granules in a cream base are hand massaged on the skin. A machine Microdermabrasion may be done with aluminum oxide, sodium bicarbonate or vitamin c crystals. There also is a diamond tip microderm which does not use crystals.
What You Will Learn
The first part of your class will go over how to evaluate the general health status and any pre-existing conditions or risk factors of a client and help them understand how this treatment will improve their skin and to set up expectations and a possible continued treatment plan that is specific to the customer. This class provides hands-on training that allows students to administer a full microdermabrasion procedure on the face and neck. You will be gain experience on how to use the tools and machines involved in performing this procedure, such as understanding the hand movement, pressure, and direction of the machine wand. You will gain experience in microdermabrasion fundamentals, basic techniques, and safety protocols. You will also learn every aspect of making clients feel comfortable during the procedure.
